When you’re decorating a formal living room or an entry
foyer, it is often recommended that you choose a neutral approach. These rooms
or areas tend to go largely unused; however, you want to make sure that they
coordinated nicely with other rooms that may have more color or personality. To
that end, using browns, grays, or varying shades of white can be a nice segue.
But won’t that be boring? In many cases, not at all. A
room that is done in these shades will often look quite contemporary and
distinguished. However, if it feels too sterile to your tastes, you can easily
add pillows or window treatments in a taupe fabric that will
maintain the neutral appeal, while adding just the softest touch of style.
For example, the Claridge Moorish
Cappuccino fabric features a geometric design on a medium shade of brown,
which can add an exotic touch to a cream and brown room. Or, if you have a
grayscale room, some throw pillows in the Culp Joplin Oat will add just a bit
of plaid to the room. Explore this collection, which features taupe fabric and
other neutrals, to find the perfect touch for your neutral décor.
